These Tubastraea Sun Polyp colonies are the nicest we've ever seen. Super healthy and full of big yellow flowers. Many hobbyists have had great success growing these colonies in their reef tanks. It just takes some extra TLC because you'll need to feed these corals as they are non-photosynthetic.
They open typically at night with big yellow flowers. Many reefers have had success training them to open during the day by feeding them at the same time every day. Another great thing about Sun Polyps is that since they don't need light you can put them in those dark spots where nothing else seems to grow. They can fill in these areas with a splash of bright color. Just make sure you can reach them at feeding time. We directly feed ours about once a week but some hobbyists recommend feeding them daily.
